Mentorship & Recruiting Prep

Prep pods aligned to each sub-sector in preparation for peak recruitment period per sector and led by alumni and/or faculty. This will drive both skills-based training with relationship building and mentorship with leaders in the market.

Career Development & Career Treks

ID Club hosts two career treks: one in SF and one in NYC.

During these treks, members of the ID Club spend the day with some of the top design & innovation consultancies. Throughout the day, members participate in panels, skills workshops and networking events. These treks are a unique opportunity to see how the design thinking process is utilized on a day-to-day basis by different agencies.

Our most recent career trek before the pandemic, was hosted by IDEO & Doblin at their headquarters in NYC.

Skills Workshops & Guest Speakers

Throughout the year, ID Club hosts various workshops on empathy, design, testing and prototyping. These workshops are open to all members of the Penn community and are meant to introduce people to the different stages of design. If you sign up for a design challenge, there are additional workshops offered through these challenges as well.

Innovation Challenge

Through our yearly Design Challenges our team focuses on providing students with practical avenues to apply their design and innovation skill sets

During 2021, in collaboration with Penn Medicine and Verizon 5G Lab we had our seventh annual Healthcare Innovation Challenge - this year, titled the Coronavirus Innovation Challenge.
